Each concept in Causaly is part of an ontology and is associated with narrower (child) and broader (parent) concepts. The ontologies used are from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS™). In every search you can explore the ontologies and either choose to increase specificity or sensitivity by removing or adding more terms to your search.
Moreover, you can preview the ontologies for a specific concept in the Overview page (example link).
